Beloved Coach Honored for his Work with Children and Adults with Disabilities

Berwyn, PA – A beloved local baseball coach, Gary Brooks of Devon, PA was honored during game 2 of The World Series with the 2020 Chevy Cares Award. Coach Brooks was selected from among 75 nominees and recognized for his commitment to children and young adults through his coaching of the Berwyn Paoli Little League Challenger Baseball. The Challenger League provides participants with physical and intellectual challenges the opportunity to play baseball in an organized league.

Coach Brooks also volunteers his time coaching basketball for children and young adults with autism and intellectual disabilities for the All Abilities Foundation of Greater Philadelphia. His commitment is displayed through the energy, enthusiasm and patience Coach Brooks brings to every game. The All Abilities Foundation of Greater Philadelphia is fortunate to have Coach Brooks and all their volunteer coaches who give their time to develop special children’s skills and  confidence through the winter basketball program.

Founded in 2015 by parents of teens with special needs, All Abilities regularly hosts social and sports events for children and adults. The Foundation’s mission is to create an environment of acceptance, community and fellowship for individuals of all abilities regardless of race, religion or creed. The All Abilities Foundation of Greater Philadelphia is a 501(c)3 organization and appreciates the support of private donors and the many volunteers who advance our mission.
